Clinical Psychology
VICTOR R. NAHMIAS, PH.D.
About Me
Private Practice since 1985
Ph.D. from Michigan State University – 1983
Arizona Licensed Psychologist - 1051 Before establishing my private practice, I worked with clients through Jewish Family and Children Services. I also worked with St. Joseph's Hospital Center for Child Abuse Prevention. In these instances I provided psychotherapy and psycho-diagnostic assessments to adults and children as well as provided multi-disciplinary evaluations of families and victims of physical, emotional, and or/sexual abuse and neglect.
About the time I started working independently, I joined one of the
nation's first managed mental healthcare companies. I not only provided direct services to clients, but also worked nationally as the Director of Professional Development and, later, as a Regional Clinical Operations Director. My responsibilities included clinical supervision, design, coordination and facilitation of education to clinical staff and network providers. I participated in the development of the quality management and quality assurance programs.
Since 1992 I have been in full time private practice working exclusively as an outpatient psychotherapist. In recent years, I have limited my work to adult individual psychotherapy and marital counseling. My practice has also included psychotherapy with impaired physicians, attorneys, and teachers.
Additionally, I am available to provide clinical supervision to mental health professionals.
